Why HugoFamily doesn’t write into your personal Google Calendar
The worry is fair: if you give an app access to Google, will it scramble your week?
We leave the personal calendar alone. Work too. Birthdays too.
HugoFamily creates its own calendar named HugoFamily.
Connecting is optional and belongs to Family Plus. The permission targets calendars this app created itself — not Gmail and not your whole calendar tree.
What appears in that calendar today
Dated chores assigned to you, as all-day items. Complete them in HugoFamily — they leave Google. A change in that calendar can update your HugoTask. That is not a marketing slogan. It is behaviour on one dedicated calendar.
It is not HugoCalendar. Household events you plan in the app. They do not go to Google yet. It is also not a dump of the whole family onto one account.
Today that calendar is one. When events travel to Google, a dedicated events calendar will sit beside it. Today’s article is about chores.
Disconnecting
Disconnecting stops new updates. The calendar stays in Google. Delete it there if you want. Chores in HugoFamily stay. Events in the app stay too.
Changes in Google usually arrive in tens of seconds. A URL subscribe, without Connect, can take longer — especially on Apple.
If you do not want Google
Calendar subscribe asks nothing of Google. On Apple, CalDAV puts chores in Reminders.
