HugoFamily vs Google Calendar
Many families “organize” in Google Calendar, chat and notes. The calendar is still doing its job well.
Google Calendar is excellent for a schedule, invites and the devices you already have. HugoFamily does not replace it and does not try to be a better calendar.
A couple that only needs a shared schedule can stay with Google Calendar.
A household that carries shopping, chores and children’s participation needs something else as well.
A different job, not a worse tool
Google Calendar is built around events and attendees. HugoFamily around household chores and the people who carry them — including children with a sign-in.
A shopping list, meals, pocket money, cards: Google does not do that, because that is not its job. HugoCalendar in the app holds family events — who may know, whose time it is, whether knowing is enough or there is a vote. Those events do not go to Google from HugoFamily today.
How they can live side by side
Family Plus can send your dated chores into a dedicated HugoFamily calendar inside Google — or subscribe them read-only. The personal calendar is not filled. It is not HugoCalendar on Google. It is your chore list beside the schedule you already have.
On Apple, chores go into Reminders. That is a different bridge, the same idea: HugoFamily owns the household, the phone shows your part.
Who this is for
Stay with Google when when and who arrives is enough. Add HugoFamily when coordinating shopping, chores and participation costs more than the schedule itself.
